A short boat ride would take you to this majestic St. Mary's Island that has the most beautiful rock formations and crystal-clear waters. The region also boasts tranquil backwaters of the Suvarna River and lush landscapes of the Western Ghats. Visiting Udupi is a way expressing harmony between spiritual exploration and nature and cuisine, a prime destination for travel, whether peace or frolic.
Day 0 :
Start Journey from Mumbai by 12619 Matsygandha Express
DAY 1 :
Reach Udupi by Morning 6 am -
Enjoy Delicious Udupi Cuisine at breakfast and Freshen up in the restaurant itself.
Further We will move to Malpe Beach. We will take boat towards St Mary's Island. Explore the island. One can Also Enjoy water sports here. (Changing facility available at malpe beach). Have Lunch and move towards hotel for check in.
Check in and rest for a bit. Have evening at leisure. You can explore local markets or small outlets to try more of udupi cuisine.
Later visit Sri krishna Mutt. Enjoy authentic Prasadam at mutt. Those who wish to have separate can have on their own.
Day 2:
Get up early in the morning to enjoy the gems of Udupi Breakfast. Later we move on to the Kodi bengare beach. A delta point where river meets the sea. Further move to kemmannu hanging bridge. Enjot Kayaking in the backwaters surrounded by serene greenery. Have lunch and move towards Maravanthe, The road flanked by sea on one side and river on other. In the evening we will visit kapu beach and lighthouse. Behold the Bird's eye view from lighthouse top. Spend time till sunset and get back to hotel. Have dinner and retire for the day.
Day 3 :
After breakfast, check out and travel towards Karkala, a historic town 40 km from Udupi, known as a Jainism center during the Maurya and Vijayanagara empires.
- Visit Kere Basadi, a beautiful Jain temple located in the middle of a lake, accessible by boat.
- Next, explore St. Lawrence Minor Basilica, a serene Catholic church known for its peaceful setting.
- Visit the renowned Chaturmukha Basadi, a symmetrical Jain temple.
- Then see the Gomateshwara statue, the second tallest statue of Bahubali, built in 1432 CE by the Santara dynasty.
After Lunch take train for Mumbai 12620 Matsygandha express
Day 4:
Reach Mumbai (LTT) by 7 am
