Overview

The Naneghat Plateau, nestled in the Western Ghats of Maharashtra near Junnar, offers a captivating experience for adventure seekers and nature lovers alike. This historic mountain pass, once a bustling trade route during the Satavahana dynasty, sits at an elevation of approximately 2,800 feet, providing stunning panoramic views of lush valleys and rugged peaks. The highlight of any tour here is the mesmerizing reverse waterfall, a rare natural phenomenon best witnessed during the monsoon season (June to September). Strong winds push the cascading water upwards, defying gravity and creating a breathtaking spectacle that leaves visitors in awe. The tour to the plateau, dotted with ancient rock-cut caves and scenic trails, blends history and natural beauty, making Naneghat a must-visit destination for an unforgettable day trip from Mumbai or Pune.
