Madurai: Regarded as the cultural city of Tamil Nadu, Madurai holds the highly revered Meenakshi Temple, one of the architectural wonders attributed to the worship of Goddess Meenakshi. The city breathes rich history and lively festivals, providing a strong dose of cultural experience.

Rameswaram: Being a major pilgrim center, Rameswaram finds its reputation associated with Ramanathaswamy Temple, which features the world's longest temple corridor. Pristine beaches add to the fame of this town as well as a 'ghost' town called Dhanushkodi, where you can explore the remnants of time.

Kanyakumari: Kanyakumari is the southernmost point of India, where the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal, and Indian Ocean meet. The main attractions are the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Thiruvalluvar Statue, and the Kanyakumari Temple. The sunrises and sunsets here are simply breathtaking.

Trivandrum: The capital of Kerala, Trivandrum, or Thiruvananthapuram, is known for cultural and beauty in its landscapes. Other famous sites here are the Padmanabhaswamy Temple, famous for architectural wonders and hidden treasures; Napier Museum; and Kovalam Beach.

Itinerary

 

Day 1: Arrival in Madurai

Reach Madurai by evening and check into your hotel. Take some time to relax and prepare for the sightseeing ahead.

Day 2: Meenakshi Temple and Travel to Rameswaram

Begin your day with a visit to the magnificent Meenakshi Temple, one of the most famous temples in India. Take some time exploring the intricate architecture and vibrant culture. After that, travel to Rameswaram (about 3.5 hours by road). On arrival, check into your hotel and visit Dhanushkodi, a ghost town at the southern tip of Rameswaram. Explore the remains of this once-thriving town and enjoy the scenic views.

Day 3: Rameswaram Sightseeing

Begin the day by visiting the Ramanathaswamy Temple, famous for its long corridors and sacred importance. Then visit other temples in the vicinity, including the Kothandaramaswamy Temple and the Panchmukhi Hanuman Temple. Visit the Abdul Kalam Memorial, dedicated to the former President of India and renowned scientist, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. Spend the evening at leisure or exploring more of Rameswaram.

Day 4: Rameswaram to Kanyakumari


Check out from your hotel and begin your journey to Kanyakumari (approximately 5 hours by road). Kanyakumari is the southernmost tip of India where the Arabian Sea, the Bay of Bengal, and the Indian Ocean meet. Check into your hotel and visit the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Thiruvalluvar Statue, and the Kanyakumari Temple. Enjoy the stunning sunset at Sunset Point.

Day 5: Kanyakumari to Trivandrum

 

After breakfast, proceed to Trivandrum (about 3 hours by road). Check into your hotel and visit the Padmanabhaswamy Temple, known for its architectural beauty and wealth. Explore the Napier Museum and the Thiruvananthapuram Zoo. If time permits, visit Kovalam Beach for a relaxing evening by the sea.

Day 6: Departure from Trivandrum


Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and checkout of your hotel. If the departure time is scheduled then you can spend the day exploring Trivandrum or just relax at leisure before heading to the airport or train station to go on to your destination.
