Overview
  1. Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga
Located in the Sahyadri hills near Pune, Bhimashankar is one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva. Nestled amidst lush greenery and close to the Bhima River’s origin, the temple is known for its serene environment and ancient architecture. Legends connect it to Shiva’s slaying of the demon Bhima, adding to its spiritual significance.

  2. Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga
Situated in Nashik near the Godavari River’s source, Trimbakeshwar is renowned for its unique three-faced lingam, symbolizing Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. The temple’s striking black stone architecture and its association with the Kumbh Mela make it a major pilgrimage site. It’s also linked to the legend of Sage Gautama’s penance.

  3. Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga
Located near Aurangabad in Ellora, Grishneshwar (also called Ghrneshwar) is the smallest of the Jyotirlingas yet holds immense reverence. The red basalt temple, built in traditional Hemadpanti style, is tied to the story of a devotee named Kusuma and Shiva’s compassion. Its proximity to the Ellora Caves adds historical allure.
