Agumbe Rainforest Exploration
On a plateau on top of the Someshwara Ghat in Karnataka, lies a quaint little place called Agumbe. Also called ‘Cherrapunjee of South India’, for it records the highest rainfall in the Southern region, this small hill station lies in the vicinity of the one of the last surviving low land rainforests of India. Undoubtedly, the place has a rich biodiversity, and it is a haven to a variety of species of mammals, reptiles and amphibians.Agumbe has also earned the sobriquet of ‘King Cobra Capital’ of the country, due to the high population of King Cobras found here. However, man-reptile conflict has hardly been heard of in this region!
A shout out to all nature lovers- Trikon is all set to explore this region and its flora and fauna! If you love spending time in forests and understanding wildlife, do join us for this adventure in Agumbe.
