Overview

Kothaligad, also known as Peth fort, is a small fort located 25 kilometers from Karjat in Raigad district.  It is a popular destination for trekkers and history buffs due to its scenic beauty and historical significance.  Ambivali is the base village of the fort from where the trek starts and Peth is the village on the fort's summit.
The fort is famous for its mountain spire.  One unique feature of this fort is that the steps that leads to the top of the hill were made by excavating cones.  This fort is also known for its caves and one can come across many water tanks here.  Many waterfalls come alive in this area during monsoons.
Kothaligad is known for its various features so the trekking experience here is thrilling and unforgettable. Hence we want to give our participants a different kind of experience i.e. they can experience village lifestyle along with trekking so that they can get out of the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy the authentic village life surrounded by nature.  Our basic aim is to preserve the village, agriculture and nature through tourism.  One can also enjoy delicious local food cooked on the traditional earthen pit fire.  Your tastebud will be satiated by local green veggies that are difficult to find in the city.
While agriculture and farmers are gradually disappearing from our agrarian country, by joining this trek you will also get a firsthand experience in farming activities (if you want to try your hand). You can be a helping hand to the local farmers, even if only for a short time.
